Backstory

Amihan was born in Kirkwall, Free Marches to the former noble Amell house. She has a fraternal twin sister, Violetta. Being the first borns to Revka and Bayani, Revka doted on them with the idea that the two girls would grow up to be what she dreamed of - leaders of their noble family.At ages of 6, Amihan and Violetta showed signs of magic during a ball thrown by the Amells. This petrified Revka, a devout Andrastian, and from that moment on wrote off her daughters. She called the Templars the next day and they came to take Amihan and Violetta, despite their cries. Bayani attempted to get them back, but couldn't, and promised both girls he will write to and visit them. The twins were separated, Amihan taken to Kinloch, and Violetta taken to Ostwick.To prevent any contact, as Revka grew ashamed of having mages in her family, she told her husband Bayani that both girls died on the journey to their respective Circles.

The Circle

Because her father believed she was dead, Amihan recieved no letters from him. This hardened her, not knowing it because he believed she was dead. She grew up to be a sour, angry, and emotionally troubled woman and was known to be difficult to get along with. While she was bullied, she often bit back with insults or tattled to teachers, making other apprentices severely dislike her. Her only friend in Kinloch was Finn Aldebrandt.Despite not getting along with her peers, Amihan excelled in arcane studies and was known as a "teacher's pet". She took pride in being top of the class and put her entire worth in it. She came to accept her life in the Circle and dreamed of becoming First Enchanter one day.After passing her Harrowing, Amihan is ecstatic to be moved to the Enchanters' quarters alongside Finn. During this, she overhears Jowan and Lily speaking about their plan to escape. Amihan harbored a deep crush on Lily, and was desperately jealous of Jowan, as they already did not get along in class. Jowan and Lily beg Amihan to help them. Amihan agrees, with the notion that she will tattle on them. She naively believed that it would get him transferred to a different Circle and she would have a chance with Lily.

However, did this not work out. Not only did it cause Lily to hate her, Amihan is conscripted to the Grey Wardens - the only choice outside becoming a Tranquil. From this moment on, Amihan swore to hate the Grey Wardens.

The Blight

Amihan believed and somewhat intended to die during Ostagar. She was overwhelmed with being outside for the first time in over a decade. Realizing there were no consequences for acting out, her words became laced with venom and bit back at anything that caused her upset.Her venom was initially directed towards Alistair, whom she immediately found annoying. She hated that she had been stuck with him after the chaos at Ostagar - she immediately chooses to take charge out of spite, despite being clueless at what to do. She also finds herself attracted to Alistair, which sets her off kilter, as she previously thought she was only attracted to women. This only resulted in more anger.

Amihan struggled greatly in speaking to people and finding help, and this often led fights, combat and failing missions. She found solace in Morrigan, the only one who seemed to understand her vitriol and shared her struggle to understand the world. She later finds herself becoming close friends with Zevran, who challenged many of her views and whom she genuinely believed to be a better person than her.When Amihan goes into the Fade to exorcise Connor from his possession, she is especially emotionalyl vulnerable and was able to be tempted by the Desire Demon - and becomes a Blood Mage. This is something she's deeply ashamed of and hides from the rest of the party.

Seeing the Circle broken nearly broke Amihan - combined with her anger at Irving for "betraying" her, she'd planned to agree to the Annullment, until she finds that Finn was still alive. He'd surprisingly been kept safe after he was locked in a wardrobe as a prank during the attacks. He tells Amihan that he'd been trying to find a way to get her "pardoned" and had even written to his parents. When Amihan asks "why?" he tells her because she is his best friend and loves her. This fundamentally changes Amihan as no one has ever told her they loved her. She decides not to annull the Circle.After Finn's declaration of love, Amihan finds herself questioning the way in which she tackles the world. Something shatters and she examines at the cruelty she so easily deals out. When Alistair is gentle with her and asks about her well-being after the Circle (despite her vitriol towards him), her feelings for him deepens.Soon, Amihan grows to realize that caring for something or someone does not make her weak. She embraces in caring for the people she grew to love (Morrigan, Zevran, and Alistair) in ways she can. She kills Flemeth for Morrigan, deals with Taliesen for Zevran (which solidifies and deepens their friendship), and helps Alistair find Goldanna. After the events of the latter, Amihan and Alistair have a long conversation, in which Alistair finds himself surprisingly empowered.Later, Amihan and Zevran frees Jowan when Eamon has him sent back to the Circle. This was Amihan's way to redeem herself from how she'd destroyed both her and Jowan's lives. Before running off, Jowan tells Amihan he could never forgive her, but he considers what she did as ample repayment.

Alistair and Amihan's relationship betters and they become close friends. Amihan's feelings grow stronger. During their time in the Brazilian forest, Alistair is attacked by an ogre and sustains life-threatening injuries. With no healing potions and Wynne back at camp, Amihan uses blood magic to save Alistair's life, revealing her secret that she'd been tempted by the Desire Demon. While initially uneasy about this, Alistair accepts it and is grateful for Amihan saving his life. Something changes between them after.At Eamon's estate, Alistair asks Amihan what she would think if he decided to become king. Amihan tells him that not only will he have power to change things, he'll be able to offer a perspective to the people of Fereldan that Anora couldn't. After their escape from Fort Drakon, Amihan and Alistair share an intense and emotional kiss, though Alistair tells Amihan they can't be together because he's choosing to become King.Things become more tense when Alistair agrees to do the Dark Ritual with Morrigan to save his and Amihan's lives. More heartbreak follows, when Morrigan leaves after the final battle. This deeply hurts Amihan, as she believed them to be to incredibly close. During Alistair's coronation, he and Amihan share a longing moment before she sets off to the parade.

Backstory

Sinag was born in Lothering, Ferelden to Malcolm and Leandra Hawke. While helping her father tend to the farm, she uses magic to stop a log from falling on Malcolm. He begins to teach Sinag how to use magic and heavily forbids her from doing it outside their farmhouse. Despite this, a defiant Sinag used magic wherever she felt she could get away with it. She was closer to Bethany due to their shared magic abilities.When Malcolm was killed by bandits, Sinag took on the role of protector for her family. It was both something she wanted to do, but also something Leandra seemed to expect. The once open Sinag began to mask her fears and anxiety through humor to soothe her siblings and mother's worry.

Arrival at Kirkwall

While Sinag escaped to Kirkwall during the Fifth Blight, the Hawkes did not leave unscathed. Losing Bethany created the first sign of a fracture that would spread into a crack in their family. Sinag only became more closed-off, preferring to show off a larger than life personality to ignore her grief and the blame Leandra put on her for Bethany's death. This made her already difficult relationship with Carver even more tumultuous. They had no choice but to work with each other to survive in Kirkwall, but it only made their relationship worse.Desperate to get her family out of Lowtown, Sinag teams up with Varric Tethras and recruits a rag-tag team of people to join them in their Deep Roads expedition. Here, Sinag finds herself both attracted and enamored with Fenris and Isabela, the latter sadly not returning her feelings. While her relationship with Anders started civil, their inability to see eye-to-eye slowly led to a testy friendship.

Deep Roads & Aftermath

Despite hitting gold and being able to elevate the Amells to nobility again, the Deep Roads expedition only furthered the crack in the Hawke family. Carver and Sinag's relationship was destroyed by her not taking him, and he joins the Templars. Leandra blames Sinag for this.
